We all know that sprinkles make life happier. So why not include them in your holiday decor? These sprinkle Christmas ornaments can be hung on your tree, displayed in a basket or given as a sweet gift. I love crafting, but sometimes I’m intimidated by complicated projects. This is honestly one of the easiest DIY projects you’ll ever come across, so there’s no reason not to do it!
What You’ll Need:
6 clear plastic ornaments
6 x 12-inch pieces of ribbon
an assortment of sprinkles
a funnel
I found the ornaments, ribbon and sprinkles at Michael’s, but you can also buy them at Hobby Lobby and other craft stores. I bought the 3.7 ounce bottles of sprinkles, and each of the ornaments held almost an entire bottle, depending on the sprinkle size.
The easiest way to pour the sprinkles into the ornament is by using a funnel. Since I don’t own an actual funnel, I created my own using construction paper. Take the size of your sprinkles into account when creating the funnel opening. The sprinkle snowmen and trees are a little big, and if the opening is too small there’ll be a traffic jam.
Gently shake the ornament (with the cap on!) if you want a more even dispersement of sprinkles. Then tie a ribbon on each ornament. Make sure you cut the end of each ribbon at an angle to help prevent fraying.
Tip: If you want to hang these on your tree, consider gluing the cap to the top. We’ve all had ornaments fall of the tree, and it won’t be fun if one of the caps on your sprinkle ornaments pops off!
These would also be a cute present for a baker in your life, or a fun gift topper. So many uses for this simple DIY project! Tag me @rosesandwhiskers on Instagram if you try it and use the hashtag #rosesandwhiskers.
Happy crafting. 🙂
Very cute – I love this idea. I also tend to get intimidated by very complicated projects, but this looks so doable!
It is sooo easy! You can definitely do it 🙂
