I’m back with the ninth edition of my #followfriday series featuring a few up-and-coming bloggers. This month I tried Ashley’s sprinkled granola bars, Julia’s pumpkin cheesecake and Katherine’s butterscotch brownies. I think you’ll love all three of these recipes!
(Read January’s feature here, February’s feature here, March’s feature here, April’s feature here, May’s feature here, and June’s feature here, July/August’s feature here, and September’s feature here.)
Note: I adapted all of the recipes to be gluten free.
I’m obsessed with these sprinkled granola bars from Ashley @plate_and_pen. The recipe is no bake and easy to customize for Halloween or another holiday. All you need is festive sprinkles! The bars are flavored with almond extract, peanut butter and chocolate (oh and honey, and oats and all kinds of yummy ingredients). But I did leave out the chia seeds. I couldn’t find any that weren’t cross-contaminated with wheat. So if you need to leave that ingredient out for some reason, rest assured that the bars are delicious without it! I gobbled these up pretty quickly and wish I’d made a double batch.
I’m so glad I saw Julia’s recipe for pumpkin cheesecake when I did! (Find the recipe @juliarecipes on Instagram.) I needed to make pumpkin cheesecake for an Instagram collaboration, so it was perfect timing. I don’t make cheesecake very often, so I’m glad this was such an easy recipe to follow. This is another no bake, flavorful recipe. It has a graham cracker crust and the creamiest filling. I also love the idea of drizzling caramel sauce on top. I think this would make a perfect addition to your Thanksgiving dessert spread!
Last but not least, I tried these butterscotch brownies from Katherine of Love in My Oven. These are soft, gooey, chewy and perfectly sweet. I love the butterscotch flavor, which is also something I don’t have very often! I love that the recipe includes chocolate chips, which gives these a little more texture and breaks up the butterscotch. Oh, and trust the recipe. I thought for sure these were underbaked when I took them out of the oven, but all they needed was to cool in the pan. Another dessert that didn’t last long in my house!
Have you tried any of these recipes? Or do you have any favorite recipes that I should try? Tell me about them in the comments or tag me @rosesandwhiskers on Instagram if you see one I’ll like! I might feature it in a future #followfriday post.
Happy baking!
